(Probably) Sir James Douglas m. Margaret Douglas
James was the 7th Baron of Drumlanrig. Born bet 1491-1498 at Drumlanrig. Died bet 1572-78.
If this connection is valid, there is plenty of info about the Drumlanrig Douglas family. Sir James' will mentions "my son Patrick" and my grandson Hugh Douglas, son of the deceased Patrick Douglas of Morton"
Margaret was a distant cousin, daughter of George of Angus and Elizabeth Drimond. Margaret was the sister of the 6th Earl of Angus. They were married 1513, divorced 1539 due to consanguinity...
Sir James remarried to Christian Montgomery in 1540. Fammily titles descended through their child, Sir William Douglas, whose son James became 8th Baron of Drumlanrig and whose children came into the Earldom of Queensberry...
2nd marriage Christian Eglinton.
If that conection is valid, then the ancestry is as follows:
1. Eillard/William Dougla, 6th Baron of Drumlanrig b ~1481- d 1513 Flodden Field. and Elizabeth Gardon
2. James Douglas, 5th Baron d 1498 and Janet Scott, married 1470
